L’immigrée italienne sur le marché du travail suisse. Le cas du canton de Vaud

Abstract

The italian woman, socialized in the role of wife and mother, was not prepared, once emigrated to Switzerland, for a productive activity. Nowadays, she is still torn between two cultures that do not allow her to feel either “at home” or a stranger. The difficulties linked to this blurred identity are particularly experienced when the immigrant has to accomplish a personal choice and/or when the economic circumstances advantage women that have not had to suffer from this situation.
