Abstract:

“The year 2015 has not only seen a considerable influx of refugees into Europe, but also a heated political debate on immigration and political asylum. Switzerland held national elections in October, and as refugees from Eritrea made up the largest group of the country’s asylum-seekers, political debate and anti-immigration campaigns focused on Eritrea itself.”
