Abstract:

Cet article explore les effets de l’(in)sécurisation de la migration sur la famille et le care. Il s’appuie sur la proximité comme « heuristique féconde » pour aborder la question de la parentalité entravée dans le contexte de la Suisse de la deuxième moitié du 20ème siècle où un strict dispositif d’interdiction du regroupement familial ciblait les travailleur·euses étranger·ères.

Spatialities of Family and Care in Contexts of (In)Securitized Migration: The Case of Hindered Parenting among Seasonal Workers in Switzerland

This article explores the effects of the (in)securitization of migration on family and care. It mobilizes proximity as a “fertile heuristic” to shed light on the issue of hindered parenting in the context of Switzerland in the second half of the 20th century, where a strict ban on family reunification targeted foreign workers.
