Abstract:
Migrant mothers in developed countries often experience more complicated pregnancy outcomes and fewer migrant women access preventive gynecology services. The objective of this paper was to explore barriers to services for reproductive health (RH) in Geneva described by migrant women from a qualitative perspective. The study used a qualitative approach and thirteen focus groups, involving 78 women aged 18 to 66 years, conducted in seven languages. The data was analyzed, and common themes were identified. The five main barriers that emerged were financial accessibility, language barriers, real or perceived discrimination, lack of information and embarrassment.
