For them, the social determinants of psychic illness, and factors linked to conditions of life and events are frequent causes of psychic breakdown and reactive psychiatric disorders. These disorders force us to adjust our traditional methods of follow-up: specific strategies of early screening and access to care and consideration of their primarily “external” aspects during treatment. In Geneva, the MEME program (santé MEntale Migrants et Ethnopsychanalyse) was created to facilitate the implementation of early, tailored psychotherapies, offering therapy focusing at once on environmental conditions, on particular aspects linked to extreme violence and on aspects entailing transcultural issues. The goal for professionals is to offer a psychic container, an envelope around a youngster or a family, to restore a sufficiently sound environment, and to encourage work on psychic links and a return to a normal life routine.”

Keywords: exile, asylum seeker, children of migrants, foreign and isolated minor, ethno-psychoanalysis, access to care, mental health, counter-transfer, care, clinical case, culture of origin, Switzerland

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

59
722,7,318,92,173,52,341,157,17,88,185,442,237,64,416
post-35797","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-health","tag-722","tag-article","tag-children","tag-country-of-origin","tag-cross-cultural-communication","tag-french-language","tag-geneva","tag-health-care","tag-immigrants","tag-intercultural-relations","tag-mental-health","tag-preventive-medicine","tag-psychanalysis","tag-unaccompanied-minors","tag-violence
["GET
