Abstract: <\/strong><\/p>\n

R\u00e9sum\u00e9 : Plusieurs \u00e9tudes ont critiqu\u00e9 la racialisation des violences faites aux femmes. Pour-tant la tendance \u00e0 lier les violences dites \u00ab domestiques \u00bb \u00e0 la migration reste populaire en Suisse. Cet article s\u2019appuie sur une \u00e9tude ethnographique d\u2019une unit\u00e9 de police secours pour contester ladite tendance. L\u2019examen du \u00ab cas sri lankais \u00bb, un r\u00e9cit dans cette institution qui pr\u00e9supposerait que ce groupe ethno-racis\u00e9 est plus enclin aux cas graves de violences, d\u00e9montre comment les agent\u00b7e\u00b7s construisent la diff\u00e9rence entre les cas similaires.<\/p>\n

Manufacturing Difference: Police Responses to \u201cDomestic Violence\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abstract: Although previous research has criticized the racialization of violence against women, the tendency to link so-called \u201cdomestic violence\u201d to migrant population remains popular in Switzerland. This article based on an ethnographic study of a police emergency unit, argues against the thesis according to which domestic violence is more frequent (or more serious) in migrant populations. It examines the \u201cSri Lankan case\u201d, a prevailing narrative in this institution, to show how the police officers manufacture difference between similar cases.<\/p>\n

Herstellungsunterschied: Polizeireaktionen auf \u00abh\u00e4usliche Gewalt\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zusammenfassung: Obwohl bereits mehrere Studien die Rassifizierung von Gewalt gegen Frauen kritisiert haben, besteht in der Schweiz nach wie vor die Tendenz, sogenannte \u00abh\u00e4usliche Gewalt\u00bb mit Migrationsbev\u00f6lkerung in Verbindung zu bringen. Der vorliegende Beitrag st\u00fctzt sich auf eine ethnografische Studie, die in einem Westschweizer Polizeikorps durchgef\u00fchrt wurde. Sie zeigt auf, wie die Beamtinnen und Beamten\u00a0\u2013 hier im Hinblick auf Personen aus Sri Lanka\u00a0\u2013 eine Differenz zwischen grunds\u00e4tzlich \u00e4hnlichen F\u00e4llen h\u00e4uslicher Gewalt herstellen.<\/p>\n
