This paper explores this hypothesis in <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the context of refugee integration in Switzerland. We leverage the exogenous geographic <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">assignment of refugees upon arrival, substantial over-time variation in labor market re<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">strictions in Swiss cantons 1999-2016, and linked asylum process and employer-employee <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">data.
