This article argues that two con<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">cepts used for quality control in language testing may be helpful in determining and <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">improving the effectiveness of the asylum procedure.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Test validity<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">requires scientific <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">proof that an assessment leads to its intended consequences.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Usability<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">is concerned <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">with the way a product or service has to be designed in an efficient and error-free <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">way to serve its purpose as well as possible. Both concepts provide analytical<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">frameworks and methods which could be applied to the asylum procedure with <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">little effort.
