“This qualitative study aims to describe the difficulties<\/span> faced by<\/span> vulnerable migrants<\/span>a<\/span> (VM)<\/span> in Geneva<\/span>
during<\/span> the<\/span> COVID<\/span>–<\/span>19 crisis,<\/span> to<\/span> explore<\/span> their<\/span> related<\/span> coping strategies<\/span> and<\/span> assistance seeking <\/span>behaviours<\/span>,<\/span> a<\/span>s<\/span> well<\/span> as<\/span> to<\/span> identify<\/span> barriers<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> uptake<\/span> of<\/span> services<\/span> provided<\/span> and<\/span> related <\/span>recommendations to be communicated to policy makers<\/span>. <\/span><\/span>The methodology included a brief literature review<\/span> of<\/span> what is known about<\/span> VM<\/span> circumstances and <\/span>their usual coping mechanisms<\/span>,<\/span> a<\/span> review of a<\/span>n online<\/span> survey<\/span> conducted with a sample of<\/span> VM<\/span> in Geneva <\/span>during the<\/span> lockdown<\/span>, a<\/span>nd<\/span> a review of the assistance<\/span> offered<\/span> to them<\/span>.<\/span> S<\/span>emi<\/span>–<\/span>structured phone interviews <\/span>w<\/span>ere conducted w<\/span>ith a<\/span> sub<\/span>sample of<\/span> 15<\/span> VM<\/span> who had reported<\/span> major<\/span> financial insecurity in the survey. <\/span>Inductive analysis followed.<\/span><\/span>“<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n
