After more than fifteen years of l<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">obbying and negotiations by associations, NGOs <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">and labor unions, Papyrus was approved and ope<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">rating for a trial period of two years. <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">Generally well-received, the project gave undocu<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">mented migrants a clear guideline to enter <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">the regularization process while putting in pl<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">ace a campaign to fight against the informal <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">labor market, specifically targeting employers of<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\"> domestic workers. Since Papyrus ended in <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">December 2018, the project continues to be a <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">topic of discussion in the whole of the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">Confederation, seen as either a policy to be re<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">created and built upon in other regions, or as <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">a risky model to avoid. Since the project was <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">not voted on by the population, the public <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">sphere debates have mainly taken place throug<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">h the media and the press, the main sources <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">of information and opinion for Papyrus.
