The researches focus on the questions about the importance of the use of the mentioned media technologies in the development of transcultural / -national communication / interaction relations across national borders and in the (re-)formation of cultural identities. Another central issue is the question of the role of media use in everyday orientation and multi-pole integration as well as participation efforts. Based on these goals, this empirical-comparative dissertation study, which is based on interviews with around 930 people, in particular explores the possible interrelationships between affiliation with ethnic and ethno-religious minorities in the context of migration and the motivation of the use of classical and, especially, new media by the people living in Switzerland with a migration background from Turkey – including the ethnic and denominational subgroups of Alevis, Assyrian, Kurds and Turks.”

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

167
48,516,57,173,151,589,121,73,17,154,419,115,207,182
post-3142","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-ethnicity-languages-religion-arts","tag-48","tag-communication","tag-comparative-analysis","tag-cross-cultural-communication","tag-cultural-identity","tag-doctoral-thesis","tag-ethnic-minorities","tag-german-language","tag-immigrants","tag-interviews","tag-kurds","tag-mass-media","tag-social-networks","tag-turks
["GET
