Method: The use of qualitative sources allowed delving into the historical process of Swiss immigration and the different mechanisms used to introduce it into the migration project. Investigating in the particular stories, allowed revealing the various strategies, which the immigrants contemplated at that time to leave, the reasons that led them to the decision to emigrate, the situation in their country of origin (motherland), the prevailing immigration policies, at all times, and the need to adapt to a completely new environment. Results: In Misiones, the installation of Swiss immigrants corresponded to a period in which had already been closed the opportunities for accessing to public lands in the Argentinian provinces of warm climate. The migratory movement from this origin can be attributed to two major factors: from one side, the critical economic situation in Europe in general and in Switzerland, in particular, and on the other side, the pursuit of “better fortune” in a new place. Discussion and/or Conclusion: The majority of Swiss immigrants to Misiones national territory can be reduced to two main points: during the 1920s decade, and in the period between 1935 and 1939, there is a record of 800 people until 1925, and increasing to the number to 2000 by the year 1939. The heterogeneity of Swiss immigration in each period was not only a product of the historical context in which they arrived, but also of the regional origins of precedence, the mechanism of startup of migratory project and socio-demographic differences of immigrants.”

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

35
48,546,7,92,137,121,98,138,279,612
post-2647","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-history","tag-48","tag-argentina","tag-article","tag-country-of-origin","tag-emigration","tag-ethnic-minorities","tag-immigration-policy","tag-migration-motives","tag-socioeconomic-factors","tag-spanish-language
["GET
