The<br \/>\nscope is to develop a theoretical model that would allow the understanding of the<br \/>\ninclusion of ageing migrants in the welfare state. The article enquires how do<br \/>\nageing migrants become included in the welfare system. Further, it narrows<br \/>\ndown and compares the Portuguese and Swiss welfare states with a focus on<br \/>\naccess to health care and pensions. The conclusion points to a heterogeneous<br \/>\npopulation of ageing migrants that policies and states are not yet ready to<br \/>\naccommodate.<br \/>\n<strong>Keywords<\/strong> : International migration, transnationalism, the welfare state, health<br \/>\nservices, pension, ageing migrants, Portugal, Switzerland<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>L&#8217;article revisite la litt\u00e9rature sur les migrations internationales et l&#8217;Etat<br \/>\nsocial en mettant l&#8217;accent sur la population croissante des migrants vieillissants.<br \/>\nL\u2019objectif est de d\u00e9velopper un mod\u00e8le th\u00e9orique qui permettrait de comprendre<br \/>\nle processus d&#8217;inclusion des migrants vieillissants dans l&#8217;\u00c9tat-social. L&#8217;article<br \/>\ns\u2019interroge notamment sur comment les migrants vieillissants sont pris en<br \/>\ncompte par le syst\u00e8me de protection sociale. Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, il compare les<br \/>\n\u00c9tats-sociaux portugais et suisse avec un accent sur l&#8217;acc\u00e8s aux soins de sant\u00e9 et<br \/>\naux pensions de retraite.
