L\u2019\u00e9ducation peut aider ces derniers \u00e0 acqu\u00e9rir des comp\u00e9tences et \u00e0 contribuer \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9conomie de leur pays d\u2019accueil ; elle peut aussi favoriser leur bien-\u00eatre socio-affectif et encourager leur motivation \u00e0 participer \u00e0 la vie sociale et civique de leur nouvelle communaut\u00e9 \u2013 et, ce faisant, faciliter leur int\u00e9gration. Toutefois, veiller \u00e0 ce que les \u00e9l\u00e8ves issus de l\u2019immigration pr\u00e9sentent de bons r\u00e9sultats sur le plan du bien-\u00eatre repr\u00e9sente un d\u00e9fi de taille, car nombre d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ves immigr\u00e9s ou d\u2019origine mixte doivent surmonter \u00e0 la fois les obstacles li\u00e9s au changement de leur lieu de vie, au d\u00e9savantage socio-\u00e9conomique, \u00e0 la barri\u00e8re de la langue et \u00e0 la difficult\u00e9 de se forger une nouvelle identit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>The ability of societies to preserve social cohesion in the presence of large migration flows depends on their capacity to integrate immigrants. Education can help immigrants acquire skills and contribute to the host-country economy; it can also foster immigrants\u2019 social and emotional well-being and sustain their motivation to participate in the social and civic life of their new communities \u2013 and, by doing so, help them integrate more easily.
