The alternative vocational pathway appears to compensate to some degree, compared to the traditional academic one, for North-African and Southern-European youths in France, those from Turkey in Germany, and to a lesser degree those from Portugal, Turkey, Ex-Yugoslavia, Albania\/Kosovo in Switzerland. This is not the case in Switzerland for Western-European, Italian, and Spanish youths who indeed access higher education via the academic pathway more often than Swiss youths. Using youth panel and survey data, multinomial models are applied to analyse these pathway choices.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"articleBody_abstract\">\n<p>Wir untersuchen die Zug\u00e4nglichkeit unterschiedlicher institutioneller Pfade zur Hochschule f\u00fcr Jugendliche der zweiten Generation und konzentrieren uns dabei auf Jugendliche mit einer Hochschulzugangsberechtigung. Der alternative berufsbildende Pfad scheint den traditionellen akademischen Weg f\u00fcr nordafrikanische und s\u00fcdeurop\u00e4ische Jugendliche in Frankreich, f\u00fcr t\u00fcrkische Jugendliche in Deutschland, aber auch f\u00fcr portugiesische, t\u00fcrkische, exjugoslawische sowie (kosovo)albanische Jugendliche in der Schweiz bis zu einem gewissen Grad kompensieren zu k\u00f6nnen. Dies gilt jedoch in der Schweiz nicht f\u00fcr westeurop\u00e4ische, italienische und spanische Jugendliche, die die Hochschule vergleichsweise h\u00e4ufiger als Schweizer Jugendliche \u00fcber den akademischen Pfad erreichen. Zur Analyse der Wahl verschiedener Hochschulzug\u00e4nge mit Jugendpanel und -surveydaten wurden multinomiale Regressionsmodelle verwendet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"articleBody_abstract\">\n<p>Nous analysons l\u2019accessibilit\u00e9 des jeunes d\u2019origine immigr\u00e9e de deuxi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement sup\u00e9rieur via diff\u00e9rents parcours scolaires dans trois pays, en nous focalisant sur ceux qui poss\u00e8dent un dipl\u00f4me permettant l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux \u00e9tudes sup\u00e9rieures. Le parcours professionnel alternatif favorise la poursuite d\u2019\u00e9tudes sup\u00e9rieures dans une certaine mesure, par rapport \u00e0 la voie traditionnelle ou acad\u00e9mique, pour les jeunes en France originaires d\u2019Afrique du Nord et d\u2019Europe du Sud et, \u00e0 un moindre degr\u00e9, pour ceux en Allemagne originaires de Turquie, et ceux en Suisse originaires du Portugal, de Turquie, d\u2019ex-Yougoslavie et de l\u2019Albanie\/Kosovo. Ce n\u2019est pas le cas en Suisse pour les jeunes originaires d\u2019Europe occidentale, d\u2019Italie et d\u2019Espagne qui en fait acc\u00e8dent davantage aux \u00e9tudes sup\u00e9rieures par la voie scolaire acad\u00e9mique que les jeunes Suisses.
