Es ist aber nicht nur eine l\u00e4ndervergleichende Perspektive, sondern vor allem auch eine Entwicklungsperspektive, die im Zentrum steht. Haben sich die Lesekompetenzen \u00fcber einen gr\u00f6\u00dferen Zeitraum ver\u00e4ndert? Wenn ja, wie und warum? Sind diese Ver\u00e4nderungen Teil von Leistungsver\u00e4nderungen in der gesamten Sch\u00fclerpopulation des jeweiligen Landes? Gibt es \u00e4hnliche Ver\u00e4nderungen in allen drei L\u00e4ndern? Und inwiefern tr\u00e4gt der sozio\u00f6konomische Hintergrund der Sch\u00fcler\/innen zu diesen Ver\u00e4nderungen bei? Unter Nutzung der Daten von PISA 2000 bis PISA 2012 zeigt sich, dass sich die Lesekompetenzen von Jugendlichen aus Zuwandererfamilien in allen drei L\u00e4ndern verbessert haben, aber nur in der Schweiz zu einem gr\u00f6\u00dferen Anteil durch eine Verbesserung des sozio\u00f6konomischen Hintergrunds erkl\u00e4rt werden k\u00f6nnen. Bemerkenswert ist auch, dass es unter den Sch\u00fclerinnen und Sch\u00fclern ohne Migrationshintergrund entweder keine oder geringere Verbesserungen gegeben hat. Dadurch hat sich in allen drei L\u00e4ndern die Differenz in den Leistungsmittelwerten zwischen Jugendlichen mit und ohne Migrationshintergrund deutlich verkleinert, wenn sie auch nach wie vor vorhanden ist. Bemerkenswert ist, dass in allen drei L\u00e4ndern die Anteile an Jugendlichen mit Migrationshintergrund deutlich gestiegen sind. Entgegen manchen Bef\u00fcrchtungen sind dabei die Leistungen der Sch\u00fcler\/innen ohne Migrationshintergrund nicht gesunken und die der Sch\u00fcler\/innen mit Migrationshintergrund gleichzeitig deutlich gestiegen.<\/p>\n<div class=\"KeywordGroup\" lang=\"de\">\n<p class=\"Heading\"><strong>Schl\u00fcsselw\u00f6rter<\/strong>: <span class=\"Keyword\">Migrationshintergrund, <\/span><span class=\"Keyword\">Lesekompetenz, <\/span><span class=\"Keyword\">PISA, <\/span><span class=\"Keyword\">\u00d6sterreich, <\/span><span class=\"Keyword\">Schweiz, <\/span><span class=\"Keyword\">Deutschland\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<section id=\"Abs2\" class=\"Abstract\" lang=\"en\">\n<p class=\"Para\">In this article reading competencies of immigrant students in Austria, Switzerland and Germany are compared. In this country comparison the longitudinal perspective is the focus of interest. Did their reading competencies change over more than a\u00a0decade? If yes, how and why? Are these changes part of an overall development in the students\u2019 competencies? Are the changes similar in the three countries? To what extent can the observed changes in reading performance be attributed to changes in students\u2019 socio-economic background? Using data from PISA 2000 through to PISA 2012 the analyses show a\u00a0significant improvement in reading performance among students with migration background in all three countries. However, only in Switzerland this development can be attributed in a\u00a0significant amount to improved socio-economic background characteristics among the migrant population. In the same period the reading performance of students without migration background has improved less (in the case of Germany) or remained almost stable (in the case of Switzerland and Austria). Hence, the difference in reading performance between students with and without migration background has significantly decreased.
